History
Our Faculty was established in 1993. In 1993-1994 academic year, the Departments of Painting and Sculpture were opened. In the 1995-1996 academic year, we started education by admitting students to the Music Sciences and Cinema-Television departments. With the establishment of the Faculty of Communication in 2002, the Department of Cinema and Television was affiliated to this faculty. The Department of Music Sciences was named as the Department of Music in the 2004-2005 academic year. In 2005, the Department of Graphic Design was opened, and in 2006, students were admitted to this department and the Ceramics Department. The Stage and Costume Department was named as the Department of Performing Arts in the same year, and attempts to open a Theater Department within this department and to open an Instrument Department within the Music Department were made. In the 2003-2004academic year, an MFA program in Music was opened at the Institute of Social Sciences of our university. Thus, an opportunity has been provided for the students who want to do an academic career. The Institute of Fine Arts, which is within our university, has been put into service. Since the 2006-2007 academic year, Master’s Degree, Doctoral and Proficiency in Art programs have been active in the fields of Painting and Music.
